Our team offers high school students a unique opportunity to gain exposure to cutting-edge research focused in Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and other neurodegenerative disorders. Interns will have the chance to learn in a collaborative environment that brings together experts from academic institutions and industry, providing insight into how scientific research translates into real-world impact. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, interns will be introduced to clinical research, laboratory processes, and data-driven science while contributing to meaningful projects. The program fosters curiosity, learning, and mentorship, making it an ideal environment for students interested in exploring careers in science, medicine, and research. The intern will be responsible for supporting the laboratory team with biomaterials (including lab consumables and biospecimens), as well as assisting with shipment, storage, inventory organization, and contributions to project design and execution. The Banner Health Internship Program provides valuable insight and professional level work experience in the healthcare industry. These positions are paid, non-benefitted and temporary. This will be 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday, 8:30-4:30 or 9am to 5pm for 8 weeks. Compensation is a flat, non-negotiable rate of $17.00/hour. POSITION SUMMARY This position typically will be up to one year in length and will work under the direct supervision of a department manager or designee. The position is responsible for expanding experiences and knowledge of practices and procedures as they relate to assigned department and area of study. These activities may include participation in a wide variety of projects.
