About The Position

Energy Transfer is seeking an intern to support our Government Affairs, Political Action, and Project Development teams. This internship offers hands-on experience in policy research, legislative and regulatory monitoring, and stakeholder engagement. Ideal candidates are students pursuing studies in Government, Political Science, Pre-Law, or Law who are eager to learn about the intersection of public policy and the energy industry. As an intern with Energy Transfer, you will gain hands-on experience supporting our Government Affairs and Political Action initiatives, as well as contributing to project development efforts. This role will provide exposure to policy research, stakeholder engagement, and the legislative/regulatory process, while also developing skills in communication, analysis, and project coordination.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with an expected graduation date in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Students pursuing studies in Government, Political Science, Pre-Law, or Law.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Interest in public policy, government relations, and the energy sector.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Organizational skills and proficiency in Excel
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with occasionally tight deadlines

Nice To Haves

• Experience in/knowledge of the energy industry is preferable, but not required

Responsibilities

• Assist with monitoring legislative and regulatory developments relevant to the energy industry.
• Support the team with research, analysis, and preparation of briefing materials.
• Help coordinate activities related to political action initiatives and project development.
• Participate in meetings and strategy sessions with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to special projects as assigned.
