About The Position

The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids is seeking an intern to support the Global Tobacco Research Department. The Intern will join a fast-paced team charged with programmatic, research, and administrative projects. This internship is based in our Washington, DC office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or working toward graduate degree.
  • Interest in public health or tobacco control issues, policy, and research.
  • Interest in public health/tobacco control advocacy
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including editing and proofreading with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while juggling multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage projects both individually and as a team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct searches on tobacco documents and secondary sources in areas of interest.
  • Maintain electronic database of research articles and help to distribute new research.
  • Maintain electronic database of global tobacco control policy changes.
  • Assist in responding to rapid research requests for information and materials from in-country partners and staff.
  • Translate findings from reports and other technical documents into fact sheets, presentations, case studies, or other materials for dissemination.
  • Assist with general office duties such as emailing documents, creating spreadsheets, proofreading materials, and creating PowerPoint presentations.
  • Assist with writing and editing research manuscripts, reports, and fact sheets for publication.
  • Participate in team meetings and perform additional duties as directed by the Global Tobacco Research Department.
