About The Position

As a Research Intern, you will support the mission of the College of Veterinary Medicine by identifying and defining research problems, designing hypotheses and methodology to be used in the experiment, designing specific phases of research projects, analyzing research results, developing conclusions and hypotheses, and presenting research results in publishable form both in writing and in scientific meetings. The primary focus of research for this role will be in the area of addiction on drugs of abuse and the impact on society. You will be driving an addiction research agenda, as well as assisting with other projects in the laboratory as needed. Additionally, you will be assisting day-to-day research functions as well as leading students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent related field experience performing work with research, scientific or clinical research protocols
  • Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis
  • Must be able to work occasionally on weekends, evenings, or holidays

  • Demonstrated experience working with rodent colonies and vapor chambers
