About The Position

Labcorp is seeking an Intern to join our Genomics Team located in Indianapolis, IN! This is an 11-week paid internship where you’ll work on impactful projects and gain real-world experience, all while supporting our mission to improve health and improve lives. As a Labcorp intern, you’ll be immersed in hands-on work that complements your academic background. Requirements

  • Working towards bachelor’s degree in genomics, biology, chemistry, physics, lab science or a related major
  • Experience delivering multiple projects in an academic or professional setting
  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and internal/external colleagues
  • Embraces diverse ways of thinking through various forms collaboration and partnership
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and willingness to follow laboratory procedures
  • Eagerness to learn new laboratory skills and scientific concepts
  • Show initiative and the ability to work independently under general supervision
  • Have a genuine interest in laboratory science
  • Maintains professionalism, including punctuality and appropriate conduct
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Actively participates in training sessions and applies newly learned skills accordingly

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2027 through June 2029 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing to evaluate assay or instrument performance characteristics
  • Prepare proper documentation of test results and present findings of research at end of assignment
  • Familiarize yourself with each of the different genomics platforms within the department and their relationship to clinical trial testing
  • Engage with both validation/development and production teams to enhance understanding of the scope and scale of testing
