Dominion Energy is seeking an Intern for their Corporate Risk Engineering group. This role provides loss control support and acts as an engineering interface to insurers, with a focus on renewable energy projects like offshore wind and battery energy storage. The intern will participate in various construction projects, including peaking combustion turbines, offshore wind, hydrogen blending, peak shaving LNG terminals, and battery energy storage facilities. Responsibilities include contributing to fire protection system specifications, design and bid evaluations, construction walkdowns, and final acceptance testing. The intern will work alongside experienced Fire Protection Engineers, applying fire protection engineering principles and standards to develop risk reduction solutions and gain practical experience in industrial risk reduction strategies. The role involves limited exercise of judgment and may require interfacing with other departments, contractors, and vendors.
