About The Position

The American Bankers Association offers a paid, highly selective internship for undergraduate students to gain experience working with a major Washington, DC trade association. Interns perform substantial work, connect with ABA leadership, build a professional network, and contribute to issues of national significance. The internship runs from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027, and is full-time at 37.5 hours per week. The role is based in Washington, DC, with an expectation to work onsite at least two days per week. The pay rate is $25 per hour for an undergraduate student who is a rising junior or senior. The Finance Intern will support financial analysis, audit preparation, budgeting, forecasting, data integration, and tax-return review activities. The position requires financial analysis, data analytics, advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills, and attention to detail. Applicants must be rising juniors or seniors at an accredited college or university with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029. Accounting or Finance is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare BankPac (Political Action Committee) audit supporting schedules and assist with gathering audit responses.
Assist with ABACEF budget review and analysis.
Assess how Workday Adaptive's predictive forecasting could be used for ABA.
Evaluate potential integration of Domo operational data with Workday financial data to enhance dashboards and financial reporting.
Support preparation and review of 990's for ABA and subsidiaries.
