Intern, Environmental Scientist, Environmental Engineer, or Geologist
About The Position
Haley & Aldrich is hiring an intern to assist office engineers and project managers with day-to-day project tasks. This full-time internship will last approximately two months beginning in Summer 2027 and will be based in the company’s New York, NY office. The role offers hands-on field experience and the opportunity to contribute to project teams working on construction, infrastructure, and real estate development projects. The intern will support field activities such as construction observation and sampling soil, groundwater, or soil vapor. They will assist with site characterization, subsurface investigations, construction monitoring, evaluation of subsurface environmental data, and environmental design and analysis. The intern will also complete a presentation at the end of the internship.
Requirements
- Be at least two years into an academic career.
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in environmental engineering, environmental science, geology, or geoscience.
- Demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn.
- Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
- Have strong computer literacy, including proficiency in all Microsoft Office software.
- Be able to work full-time for two consecutive months.
Nice To Haves
- A valid driver’s license is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide field support on construction projects, including construction observation and sampling of soil, groundwater, or soil vapor.
- Visit construction sites to assist the construction monitoring service group.
- Assist engineers and project managers with planning and executing site characterization, subsurface investigation, and construction for infrastructure and real estate development projects.
- Assist with evaluation of subsurface environmental data.
- Assist in environmental design and analysis and develop environmental recommendations.
- Complete a presentation at the end of the internship period.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
