About The Position

This Environmental Development and Permitting Intern role is an opportunity to work with a Global Leader in Renewables Development. The Environmental Intern will work to support ENGIE’s Development Pipeline in North America and help to ensure that Projects are following best management practices (BMPs) to minimize environmental impacts and maximize biodiversity value of commercial-scale Renewables Projects. In this role the Intern will support biodiversity studies, surveys, and micro-siting efforts to minimize wildlife and wetland impacts, and support the Senior Advisor on compliance obligations, preparing development projects for construction-stage efforts, and support the pursuit of federal and state permits where necessary. The Intern will have the opportunity to coordinate with a variety of cross-functional teams, including Legal, Land Use, and Engineering obligations. Complete assigned training and follow all ENGIE safety procedures (9 Life Saving Rules) Attend and participate in internal and external meetings, and site visits to wind and/or solar sites Communicate using email, TEAMS meetings and phone calls Review renewable environmental plans, surveys, and Best Management Practices (BMPs) documentation

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of Masters-level or JD coursework with an undergraduate degree focused on law, engineering, environmental science, or biology at an accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze situations and make autonomous decisions
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Pro-Active and driven to complete tasks at hand
  • Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of precision
  • Capable of delivering engaging presentations and effective training sessions
  • Committed to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Responsibilities
