About The Position

Sonneborn, an HF Sinclair company, is seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to join our Petrolia, Pennsylvania team. The Engineering Intern supports the site’s Maintenance team by assisting with the maintenance, performance and reliability of critical assets.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
Basic knowledge of commonly used engineering terminology.
Ability to apply engineering knowledge analytically.
Willingness to stay abreast of new technology developments and processes.
Experience with Microsoft Office products.

Nice To Haves

Completion of junior level courses is preferred.
Familiarity with engineering software is preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to support equipment reliability and performance improvement initiatives.
Assist with the coordination and execution of engineering and maintenance projects.
Support asset integrity and reliability programs for critical equipment and systems.
Participate in turnaround planning and execution activities, including spare parts inspections and quality control reviews.
Analyze equipment performance data and assist in identifying opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
Support troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and corrective action initiatives related to equipment and process issues.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and project records.
Assist with continuous improvement projects focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Perform additional engineering and maintenance-related duties as assigned.
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
