Ignite your future with IMAX. About the Role: We are looking for ambitious, movie-obsessed students to join the IMAX Internship Program this Summer. This 10-week program (June–August) is designed to provide hands-on learning, skill development, and real-world experience in a collaborative and innovative environment, based in our Sheridan Park office. Reporting directly to the Electrical Engineering Manager, this role is part of a team shaping the future of the IMAX theatre experience. The intern will support product certification, development of new electronics, and sustaining engineering across IMAX’s product portfolio. This position offers exposure to a dynamic, cross-functional environment, collaborating with mechanical, optical, audio, video, and software specialists.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience with circuit design and PCB layout (Altium experience preferred)
  • Experience debugging circuit boards in a lab environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Passion for learning

Responsibilities

  • Support the design engineering team by reviewing schematics, PCB layouts, interconnect diagrams, and test procedures
  • Assist the certification engineering team in creating test setups and executing test procedures
  • Contribute to the sustaining engineering backlog
  • Learn and build familiarity with IMAX’s product portfolio and theatre technologies
  • Partner with the engineering manager to improve business processes and help organize laboratory space
