About The Position

The Electric Transmission (ET) Services Intern provides support for project controls, data management, materials coordination, and business operations activities that contribute to the successful planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of the electric transmission system. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, the intern will gain exposure to project forecasting, schedule and cost performance monitoring, business systems, asset information management, materials processes, and other key functions that support ET projects and operations. The intern will assist with reporting, data analysis, process documentation, and special projects while working closely with Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, and other business partners. The assignment will provide meaningful experience in utility project execution, financial stewardship, asset management, enterprise systems, and business operations.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Basic understanding of business, engineering, construction, project management, supply chain, finance, information systems, or related principles acquired through academic coursework.
  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret data to support business and operational decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to learn and apply new systems, software applications, and business processes in a professional environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees across multiple functional areas.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and willingness to learn new concepts and responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive business information appropriately.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and other business functions.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Must be working toward completing a bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics preferred, and must have completed their freshmen year with a cumulative GPA above 3.0.
  • Prefer rising sophomores and juniors with an anticipated graduation date between May 2028 or later.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with project cost, schedule, performance, and business reporting activities.
  • Support project controls functions, including project data updates, analysis, forecasting, and performance monitoring throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist with data collection, asset information updates, materials coordination, and related business and operational processes.
  • Participate in the development of reports, documentation, process improvements, and special projects that support ET projects and operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain exposure to utility project execution, transmission operations, and business processes.
