About The Position

Spire is seeking an enthusiastic, career-minded student or recent graduate for a paid Damage Prevention Specialist internship. The intern will learn and receive mentorship while completing projects and administrative duties, developing skills related to the assigned department and the natural gas industry. The position involves both office and field environments, including uneven terrain, inclement weather, and large equipment. Some travel may be required. The intern must participate in All Inclusive Onboarding and the Project Poster Symposium. There are no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

Be currently enrolled as an undergraduate rising junior or senior, or as a graduate student in fall 2027, pursuing a degree in construction management, engineering, or a relevant field.
Be able to work 35–40 hours per week throughout the summer internship.
Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
Have proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Participate in All Inclusive Onboarding and the Project Poster Symposium.
Demonstrate the ability to master core and job-category competencies.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and complete projects based on departmental needs.
Build cost sheets for repairs related to third-party damages.
Invoice repair bills through the Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) system.
Record and close out reports for payments received.
Coordinate training meetings with contractors and municipalities.
Participate in damage prevention training for in-house crews and service technicians.
Perform other duties as assigned.
