About The Position

Bermex, Inc. is hiring a Certified Damage Prevention Technician to support safety and quality while driving, parking, and auditing marked gas lines. The position involves substantial physical activity and work in a wide variety of weather conditions. The technician visits excavation sites and construction zones, promotes safe excavation practices, and completes work orders and documentation. The role reports to the Operations Lead and pays $20 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

• Must be comfortable working outdoors and with customers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Code Rule 753 and promote safe excavation practices.
• Follow utility, state, and federal guidelines related to damage prevention.
• Wear assigned personal protective equipment and company uniform.
• Follow safety, quality, and operational procedures and participate in safety meetings.
• Distribute educational materials and public awareness items to excavators.
• Regularly visit third-party excavation sites and construction zones.
• Collect data using a handheld tablet or other collection device.
• Complete work orders on assigned dates and travel to sites as needed.
• Provide timely reports and documentation to management.
• Escalate issues and questions to the Supervisor when necessary.
• Maintain a satisfactory attendance record.
• Keep the assigned vehicle clean and promptly report equipment or vehicle issues.
• Communicate with dispatchers.
• Show courtesy and professionalism when dealing with customers and employees.
• Perform other duties as needed.
