About The Position

We are looking for college students (rising Juniors and Seniors) seeking internships for the summer of 2027 in Boston. This internship will provide advance consideration for Shawmut’s CMST program after graduation. The ability to build strong relationships is key for our Construction Operations and Field Operations internships. These roles are hands on and will work closely with our established project teams providing you a wonderful introduction to the industry and the Shawmut culture. Requirements

  • A rising Junior or Senior working towards a degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Mechanical Engineering, etc.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to build strong relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day Project Management activities to ensure our projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Manage submittals and RFIs, track procurement and change order documentation and assist in project close out.
  • Work with our Estimating and Preconstruction team to develop estimates and budgets for our clients.
  • Work with subcontractors to ensure pricing and coverage for our projects, assist in scope writing on a variety of trades and attend bid reviews with our internal partners.
  • Work closely with a seasoned Superintendent on one of our local job sites.
  • Manage daily reports, assist in monitoring and enforcing site safety protocols and coordinate punch list activities.
