Intern/Coop - Construction Management Skills Training (CMST) Program
About The Position
We are looking for college students (rising Juniors and Seniors) seeking internships for the summer of 2027 in Miami. This internship will provide advance consideration for Shawmut’s CMST program after graduation. The ability to build strong relationships is key for our Construction Operations and Field Operations internships. These roles are hands on and will work closely with our established project teams providing you a wonderful introduction to the industry and the Shawmut culture. Requirements
- Rising Junior or Senior working towards a degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Mechanical Engineering, etc.
- Ability to build strong relationships.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be able to work in Miami.
Responsibilities
- Support Project Management, Estimating or Field work depending on business need.
- As a Project Management intern, assist in the day-to-day Project Management activities to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
- Manage submittals and RFIs, track procurement and change order documentation and assist in project close out.
- As an Estimating intern, work with the Estimating and Preconstruction team to develop estimates and budgets for clients.
- Work with subcontractors to ensure pricing and coverage for projects, assist in scope writing on a variety of trades and attend bid reviews with internal partners.
- As a Field intern, work closely with a seasoned Superintendent on a local job site.
- Manage daily reports, assist in monitoring and enforcing site safety protocols and coordinate punch list activities.
