About The Position

The Construction Technology Intern will support the implementation, utilization, and continuous improvement of technology solutions across construction operations. This role provides hands-on exposure to construction software, field technology, surveying equipment, machine control systems, drones, GIS mapping, and data analytics tools that improve project performance and operational efficiency. The intern will work closely with field operations, project management, engineering, and technology teams to gain practical experience applying innovative technology solutions to real-world construction projects.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of education working toward completion of a bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline from a four-year college or university.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
At least one summer of construction work experience.
Ability to communicate effectively with peers and leadership.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations, and mean, median, and averages.
Ability to maintain compliance with all Veit policies and procedures.
Ability to respond to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

Assist with implementation and support of construction technology platforms across field and office operations.
Support adoption of construction technology tools through training and field coaching.
Document technology processes, workflows, and best practices.
GPS machine control operations and data management.
Assist with site layout activities using GPS and surveying equipment.
Help collect, organize, and validate field data.
Participate in machine control file preparation and quality reviews.
Assist with drone flight planning, data collection, and processing.
Support aerial mapping, progress tracking, and site documentation efforts.
Help create project visualizations, Ortho mosaics, and progress reports.
Gather and organize project performance data.
Assist with dashboards, reporting, and data visualization tools.
Support analysis of operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
Help ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems.
Collaborate with project managers, field engineers, superintendents, and operations leaders.
Attend project meetings and technology demonstrations.
Support special projects assigned by the Construction Technology team.
