About The Position

Consumers Energy is Michigan’s largest energy provider, serving 6.8 million residents across 68 Lower Peninsula counties. This role is for current college students of all levels to work as part of a larger team, providing hands-on support and design/development for various engineering aspects of the business. This could include work in energy delivery – electric engineering, gas engineering, energy operations, and more. The program offers optional events such as intern networking events, company tours, and the Intern Challenge. This posting is for collecting resumes for students interested in an Engineering internship opportunity with Consumers Energy, with opportunities potentially including summer 2027 Internships, fall or spring co-op, or part-time year-round co-op. Applications will be collected through the end of October 2026, and responses may be delayed due to the extended application period. Requirements

  • Actively enrolled and pursuing an ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a specific focus in Various Engineering disciplines.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Engineering at an ABET school OR currently pursuing a Master's in Engineering at an ABET school OR currently pursuing an Engineering-related Master's while having completed a Bachelor's in Engineering at an ABET school.
  • Minimum GPA requirement of 2.7 or higher.
  • Must not require immigration sponsorship (H-1B, TN, etc.) now or in the future.
  • Not eligible for CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT.
  • Selected candidate must be within commutable distance from assigned location(s) or willing to find accommodations.
