The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for the treatment of infants, children, and/or adolescents according to the active plan of care, as given by the physician and other appropriate personnel. This includes administering prescribed medication, treatments, and therapies, and documenting all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and coordination of care. The RN will also educate the patient and family regarding the disease process, self-care techniques, and prevention strategies, and in meeting the patient's nursing needs. Specific duties include pediatric education, INR checks, administering wound care and wound vac placement, providing disease process education, practicing safe delivery of physician-ordered care to patients in a home environment, performing patient assessments, providing feeding tube management and education, administering and managing medication, and providing central line management, lab draws, and education. Accurate and concise documentation is essential.
