About The Position

The Systems Integration Department seeks an Intermediate Systems Engineer to support government sponsors in architecting, analyzing, integrating, and advancing complex mission and enterprise systems across evolving national security environments. The role applies Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), systems integration, executable MBSE, architecture analysis, and digital engineering methods to develop, evaluate, and evolve system architectures that inform engineering, acquisition, and investment decisions. Working with technical, operational, acquisition, and programmatic stakeholders, the engineer translates mission needs into integrated architectural solutions, engineering analyses, digital engineering artifacts, and actionable recommendations. The work supports improved mission outcomes and digital transformation through an authoritative digital thread. The position also offers opportunities to apply and expand architecture modeling and system integration skills, including work related to systems of systems, complex-system analysis, and decision support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and typically at least 2 years of related experience; alternatively, an advanced degree with relevant experience that enables immediate contribution at this job step, or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Experience with systems engineering methodologies and familiarity with MBSE principles.
  • Familiarity with modeling frameworks and languages such as UAF, SysML, and UML.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage system requirements and produce logical and functional system designs, including system structure, behaviors, and data flows.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, or other modeling and data analysis software tools.
  • Interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts and tools.
  • Strong communication skills, including demonstrated experience briefing senior government or customer stakeholders on status, critical decisions, and technical recommendations.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government-issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for security-clearance eligibility.
  • Must work on-site a minimum of 3 days.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with MBSE tools and environments; CATIA Magic/Cameo experience is preferred.
  • Experience in data architecture for complex systems.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of systems architecture, systems design and development, and modern systems engineering methods.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary modeling and simulation at the physics, engineering, and/or operational level.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages for quantitative analyses, such as MATLAB, R, or Python.
  • Interest and/or experience designing autonomous systems.
  • Experience with AI and ML concepts and tools.
  • Active Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Model complex-system architectures using standards-based frameworks and languages such as UAF, SysML, and UML.
  • Develop executable systems engineering models to verify and validate end-user needs.
  • Design and develop prototypes, dashboards, and/or plugins using Java, Python, and related programming languages.
  • Perform systems integration activities, potentially applying MOSA standards such as OMS, UCI, and FACE, and establish executable models to verify and validate interfaces.
  • Assist in evaluating architectures using qualitative and quantitative techniques.
  • Advise government sponsors and program managers on architecture strategies, digital engineering transformation, technology insertion opportunities, system modernization approaches, technical roadmaps, and engineering decisions that improve mission outcomes and reduce program risk.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, feedback, and knowledge sharing to junior engineers, and help shape technical approaches, department capabilities, and sponsor solutions across multiple projects.
