The Brick is seeking an Intermediate Financial Analyst to join its Inventory and Rebate Accounting Department. This role involves performing a variety of accounting and analytical tasks, working both individually and as part of a team within the Finance department. The position is based in the Edmonton Corporate Office and reports directly to the Manager, Inventory and Rebate Accounting. Requirements

• 3+ years of working experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Advanced skills in spreadsheet and relational database applications: Excel, MsAccess, VBA, SQL
• Strong financial analytical skills
• Adaptable and resourceful when working on time-sensitive deliverables
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Oracle is an asset

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close activities including preparing journal entries, account variance analysis and account reconciliations.
• Work closely with the Buyers and Purchasing team to monitor, analyze and adjust cost factors.
• Perform Margin analysis, provide financial insight to support informed decision-making.
• Perform in-depth monthly analysis of the FDB pool, including freight, duty, tariff, and brokerage costs.
• Serve as the key finance point of contact for Franchise team regarding inquiries related to Sales, COGS, delivery, sell throughs, price protection, etc.
• Perform complex ad hoc requests from management.
• Document key financial processes, models, and assumptions to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer.
• Assist with interim and year end audits.
