About The Position

This position involves financial reporting and analysis, with a focus on budget structuring and implementation aligned with strategic goals. The role requires preparing monthly budget vs. actuals reports, conducting variance and trend analysis, and ensuring compliance with financial policies. The analyst will also create presentations for management, conduct budget reviews, and provide financial projections.

Requirements

  • Financial analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with variance analysis and accounting reconciliations.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with large ERP systems, particularly SAP.
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA, CA strongly preferred; alternatively, CPA, CMA, MAcc, or MBA.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in French is beneficial.
  • Experience with macros in Excel.
  • Experience in hospital or research settings.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate proposals for structuring and implementing budgets in line with strategic goals.
  • Prepare monthly budget vs. actuals reports and conduct variance and trend analysis.
  • Complete and submit quarterly claim reports, CF forecast reports, and miscellaneous reports, while responding to queries.
  • Create presentations for management board meetings.
  • Conduct periodic budget reviews, detailed analysis, and financial projections.
  • Monitor and review financial aspects of funding recipients' projects, ensuring compliance with cost principles and reporting requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with scientists, third-party recipients, and government staff regarding project finances.
  • Provide ongoing training for recipients on budget preparation and expenditure reports.
  • Assist with events and symposia.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of current internal controls and recommend improvements.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives and implement robust financial tracking systems.
  • Coordinate with auditors to facilitate comprehensive audits of financial activities.
