About The Position

The Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering Center is seeking an Intermediate Cloud Engineer with a desire to work on innovative advanced approaches and technologies to solve our sponsors’ most critical technological problems. In this role you will provide architectural and hands-on support to critical customer problems in cloud computing and DevOps as well as software development and architecture. In addition, you will have an opportunity to work in several specialty fields with information technology to include Infrastructure Applications, IaaS, PaaS, Cloud Computing (including OS & Application virtualization), platform migration, server consolidation, utility computing, and grid computing.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or a Master’s degree; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
  • Experience with one or more commercial cloud offerings (AWS, AZURE, Google Cloud, etc)
  • Working knowledge of AWS computing platform, dev/ops tools such as Jenkins and Github
  • Working knowledge of one or more system management technologies such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
  • Troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD
  • Strong knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages, including Python, GO, Java, JavaScript, Typescript, C sharp
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site
  • Per the U.S. Government’s eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Top Secret security clearance
  • Approximately 2 years of experience in a technical field, including at least 1 year of cloud experience
  • Master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with relevant cloud experience
  • Expert at approaches to DevOps
  • Leadership skills and demonstratable examples of leading projects and/or teams
  • Knowledge in architecting solutions in one or more commercial cloud offerings
  • Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes and Docker
  • Working knowledge of data engineering concepts, including ETL processes and distributed data processing
  • Expert knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages: Python, GO, Java, JavaScript, Typescript, C sharp

Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues
  • Review existing systems and contribute to recommendations for improvement to sponsors and internal teams
  • Collaborate with development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions
  • Support the implementation and operation of cloud-based solutions and DevOps practices
  • Work under guidance to troubleshoot issues and contribute to technical solutions within a team environment
