About The Position

This is an unpaid volunteer position for individuals looking to make a meaningful impact and gain hands-on experience while supporting ARO’s mission to help victims of abuse. The role offers a flexible, virtual environment and opportunities for leadership, cross-departmental mentoring, and professional development. ARO is a global community dedicated to supporting survivors of various forms of abuse through education, resources, and advocacy.

Requirements

  • Must be available to volunteer 12-15 hours a week.
  • Based in the USA and able to work set hours (neg).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and workplace policies preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, delegate, and thrive in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to onboarding and offboarding coordinators and team members.
  • Collaborate with HR Talent Acquisition leadership to improve and streamline onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Oversee daily department operations, ensure timely completion of documentation and tasks, and coordinate with managers across departments regarding new team members.
  • Partner with HR on best practices, global initiatives, volunteer offboarding, and performance feedback.
  • Attend monthly team meetings and complete additional duties as assigned.
  • Attend team meeting on the second Tuesday of each month at 12:30pm EST.
  • Actively engage with the organization's social media platforms by liking, sharing, or commenting on posts to help spread awareness of our mission and initiatives.
