About The Position

This role involves overseeing daily inpatient coding operations, providing leadership and guidance to coding teams across various facility settings. The candidate will act as a subject matter expert (SME) for facility coding, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include performing coding audits and quality reviews, supporting coders with complex scenarios, and monitoring operational efficiency. Collaboration with internal stakeholders on process improvements and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding regulations are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Adept in utilizing computer programs and the internet
• Associate degree in a health-related field required
• RHIT required
• CCS certification

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily inpatient coding operations
• Provide leadership, guidance, and performance oversight to coding teams across all facility settings
• Act as subject matter experts (SME) for facility coding, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory requirements
• Perform coding audits and quality reviews to maintain accuracy and productivity standards
• Support coders with complex coding scenarios, escalations, and education
• Monitor and improve coding quality, turnaround times, and operational efficiency
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on process improvements and coding compliance initiatives
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, payor requirements, and regulatory changes
