About The Position
Specialty Medical Staffing is currently seeking an Interim Director of Pharmacy for an acute care hospital in the Nacogdoches, TX area. This is an excellent leadership opportunity for an experienced hospital pharmacist to oversee pharmacy operations while supporting an established inpatient pharmacy team. We are seeking a pharmacist with strong inpatient acute care and management experience who can provide operational leadership, maintain regulatory compliance, and support high-quality patient care in a collaborative hospital environment.
Requirements
- Active Texas Pharmacist License in good standing
- Recent inpatient acute care hospital pharmacy experience required
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Nice To Haves
- Previous Director of Pharmacy, PIC, or pharmacy leadership experience preferred
- Experience with Cerner/Siemens preferred
- Experience with Omnicell preferred
Responsibilities
- Serve as Director of Pharmacy while fulfilling Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership and oversee daily pharmacy services
- Review and verify medication orders while assisting with staffing as needed
- Coordinate pharmacy in-services and staff education initiatives
- Support regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and accreditation readiness
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and hospital leadership to optimize medication management and patient care
- Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations and hospital policies
