About The Position

The Interim Controller is responsible for owning and stabilizing evolvedMD’s core accounting operations during a transitional period. This role provides hands-on leadership across general ledger, month-end close, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll accounting, and financial controls, with a strong emphasis on healthcare billing, revenue recognition, and accrual-based invoicing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred).
  • Prior Controller-level experience in healthcare strongly preferred.
  • Strong healthcare billing and revenue recognition expertise.
  • Experience with Quickbooks and ERP implementations.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assume interim ownership of full cycle accounting close, accounting processes and day to day management of AR, AP and accounting team.
  • Assist with preparatory work for the upcoming ERP implementation, including data readiness, testing, historical reconciliations, process mapping, and coordination with internal stakeholders and external implementation partners.
  • Own the full month-end close process and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity, reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Perform and enforce review controls, including month-over-month variance analysis.
  • Own accounts receivable and revenue recognition for healthcare services.
  • Oversee multi-method healthcare billing workflows.
  • Manage revenue accruals and reversals to prevent duplicate recognition.
  • Partner with Operations, Clinical, and BI teams on billing variance investigation.
  • Serve as system owner for Quickbooks
  • Support FP&A and monthly financial reporting.
  • Oversee AP processes and payroll accounting.
  • Identify and correct control gaps in accounting processes.
  • Support audits and financial diligence.
