About The Position
Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to provide hands-on accounting leadership during a period of transition and cleanup. The initial priority will be to assess and stabilize the accounting function, address outstanding issues, and establish reliable processes and reporting. Once the cleanup is complete, the Controller will help build a more efficient, sustainable accounting operation. This is an onsite role in the Cool Springs area and requires strong NetSuite experience.
Requirements
- Significant Controller-level or senior accounting leadership experience.
- Strong, hands-on NetSuite expertise; must be able to work effectively within the system rather than simply oversee others.
- Experience managing accounting for multiple legal entities.
- Strong technical accounting, general ledger, reconciliation, and financial reporting skills.
- Demonstrated success stepping into challenging accounting environments and completing cleanup projects.
- Ability to quickly assess problems, establish priorities, and execute with limited direction.
- Willingness to be hands-on with detailed accounting work as needed.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both accounting staff and senior leadership.
Nice To Haves
- Sage Intacct experience.
- QuickBooks Online (QBO) and/or QuickBooks Desktop (QBD) experience.
- Experience improving or integrating accounting processes across multiple systems or entities.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day accounting activities across a multi-entity organization.
- Assess the current accounting environment and prioritize cleanup and reconciliation needs.
- Drive accounting cleanup efforts and resolve historical or outstanding issues.
- Manage month-end close, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Ensure accurate intercompany accounting and consolidation across multiple entities.
- Review existing accounting processes, controls, and procedures and implement improvements.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize accounting workflows.
- Ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and appropriately supported.
- Provide hands-on leadership and support to the accounting team.
- Partner with senior leadership on accounting and financial reporting matters.
