About The Position

East 57th Street Partners is seeking an Interim Controller to support its Office of the CFO Practice for clients in the DFW metro area. This role involves leading financial reporting, managing accounting functions, and implementing best-in-class financial controls and processes. The Interim Controller will collaborate with CFOs, private equity sponsors, and executive teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and improved financial operations. This position offers the chance to make an immediate impact by assisting businesses during transition periods, M&A integration, and financial transformations.

Requirements

10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
Strong background in financial reporting, accounting operations, and process optimization.
Experience with ERP implementations and financial system improvements.
Expertise in GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
Strong ability to work hands-on in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Nice To Haves

Prior Controller experience in a private equity-backed environment preferred.
Experience in M&A, transaction support, or integration a plus.
CPA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Lead month-end close and financial reporting for private equity-backed companies.
Optimize accounting processes and internal controls to improve financial efficiency and accuracy.
Ensure GAAP compliance and oversee the preparation of financial statements.
Support cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and budgeting initiatives.
Drive process improvements and system implementations, ensuring scalability.
Work directly with private equity sponsors to provide financial insights and reporting.
Support M&A due diligence and post-transaction integration as needed.
Mentor and develop internal finance teams to enhance operational capabilities.
