About The Position

Students expand on their knowledge of game audio implementation by using RTPCs to create real-time dynamic and modular sound design and music systems using middleware software such as FMOD and Wwise. Students work on a cross-discipline video game development project in collaboration with students specializing in computer science and animation/design.

Requirements

  • Degree in music composition or related field
  • Extensive professional experience in sound design for audiovisual media, including music and sound for video games
  • Expert knowledge of relevant current software, including familiarity with audio asset implementation and in-game audio engines such as Unity and Wwise

  • College/university teaching experience desirable

Responsibilities

  • Define course objectives
  • Prepare course materials
  • Provide clear guidelines on course requirements and regulations
  • Teach classes as scheduled
  • Administer and evaluate student assignments
  • Prepare and submit final grade in accordance with policy
  • Support music students in their collaboration with computer science and animation/design students on a video game development project
  • Maintain reasonable hours of student consultation outside scheduled class hours
