Integration & Test (HITL) Lead

Anduril•Costa Mesa, CA

About The Position

The Integration & Test (HITL) Lead will own the test infrastructure used to verify payload and autonomy behavior before systems reach the water. Reporting to the Payload Lead, this person will build and lead hardware-in-the-loop benches, define test strategy across simulation and real hardware, and establish the HITL environment as a place to detect and resolve problems before at-sea deployment. The role requires technical expertise and leadership to set objectives, build cross-functional teams, and drive multidisciplinary projects to completion. The position is part of Anduril's Maritime Division and supports its work to scale advanced manufacturing and develop next-generation autonomous underwater vehicles. The team is currently developing and prototyping in a 160,000-square-foot facility in Orange County, California, ahead of the construction of Arsenal-2 in Baltimore County, Maryland.

  • 7+ years in test engineering, integration and test, or test infrastructure development.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a hardware-in-the-loop environment for a complex system.
  • Strong software skills in Python plus C++ or Rust for test automation and simulators.
  • Experience building simulators or emulators that stand in for real hardware.
  • Hands-on hardware instrumentation and lab debugging experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading a test team or test function.
  • Background with robotics, autonomous vehicle, aerospace, or maritime test environments.
