About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to join our planning yard team within the Integrated Power Systems department. D446, Integrated Power Systems department is responsible for the systems integration of the electric drive propulsion for COLUMBIA Class. The planning yard team is responsible for supporting high voltage interfaces within IPS. This includes supporting reviews of design deliverables, developing procedures to support high voltage (HV) construction, providing training for the trades and deck plate support during HV evolutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
• 5+ years of post-graduate experience in engineering
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, collaborating with engineering, design, planning, MATLs, and operations.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
• Ability to analyze a complex system integrations problem and provide solutions in order for construction work to continue
• Expertise in creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation, including engineering dispositions and system specifications.
• Ability to translate technical information into clear, comprehensive documents for various stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and respond to customer needs and provide tailored solutions that meet both technical and business objectives.
• Ability to meticulously review construction issues in order to identify the root cause and provide a resolution while ensuring requirements are being met

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Teamcenter and reviewing design disclosures
• Familiarity with the planning organization
• Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence

Responsibilities

• Supporting HV evolution preparation including but not limited to HV training, HV cable installation procedures reviews, and design deliverable reviews
• Deck plate support during HV evolutions
• Supporting IPS component teams and ensuring interface requirements are being met
• Changing course and reprioritizing tasks on short notice as needed for construction support
• Supporting tasking and mentoring for more junior members of the team
• Interacting regularly with customers for various decisions and presentations
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure compliance with technical specifications and requirements
