About The Position

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Integrated Construction Coordinator II to join their Civil Group. This role will implement and oversee Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) processes throughout project phases, with a specialization in utility modeling and coordination. The position supports civil and utility construction teams by developing and maintaining coordinated utility models, facilitating clash detection and constructability reviews, and providing digital deliverables to improve field execution. The role involves close collaboration with operations, survey, engineering, and project teams to identify conflicts early, optimize installation sequencing, and support GPS and machine-control workflows. The goal is to de-risk construction by ensuring utility systems are accurately modeled, coordinated, and communicated before field installation.

This role requires strong communication skills for interacting with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will be flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient, with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent field.
• Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk Revit, Revizto, Trimble Business Center, and/or ESRI’s ArcGIS software.
• 4+ years related experience.
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and handle multiple project tasks at a time.
• Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level.
• Positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies effectively.
• Strong communication, teamwork orientation, initiative, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Open to change based on diverse input and feedback.
• Current driver’s license.
• Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status.

Nice To Haves

• Survey data knowledge and/or experience is preferred.
• GIS data management is a plus.
• Completion of intermediate level BIM/VDC software training.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and oversee VDC processes through appropriate technology platforms.
• Develop and maintain 3D utility models from Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, ArcGIS, survey, and engineering design data.
• Perform clash detection and conflict-resolution reviews between utility systems and other site infrastructure utilizing Revizto.
• Provide utility layout information, invert data, rim elevations, and critical installation points for Survey.
• Assist with as-built verification and documentation processes.
• Use Autodesk Civil 3D to design optimized road and site grading models, alignments, profiles, corridors, grading groups, etc.
• Work with survey data and communicate with project field teams through Trimble Business Center software to deliver designs to survey equipment.
• May include, Mortenson BIM/VDC uses existing conditions modeling, cost estimation, phase planning (4D), site analysis, design reviews, 3D visualization, 3D coordination, site utilization planning, construction system design, digital fabrication, 3D control planning and record modeling.
• Provide point of contact for construction team members on VDC processes and reports during all phases of construction.
• Document work process as it relates to improving and/or changing current company process standards.
• Assist in training on VDC processes.
• Be an active participant in Mortenson’s IDAT (Integrated Delivery Advancement Team) community of practice- sharing knowledge.
