Integrated Construction Coordinator I - Civil VDC
About The Position
Mortenson is seeking an experienced Integrated Construction Coordinator I to join their Civil Group. This role involves reviewing, analyzing, managing, and resolving field coordination issues with project team members and participants. The position requires excellent communication skills for interacting with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment. Success in this role depends on flexibility, inventiveness, dedication, efficiency, high integrity, and confidentiality. Strong planning and organization skills are essential. This role utilizes Civil 3D, GIS, machine control technologies, drone data, and civil modeling workflows to enhance constructability, optimize scopes of work, and provide data-driven solutions for renewable energy and site development projects. It combines civil engineering knowledge with construction technology expertise to develop innovative solutions for improved project outcomes.
Requirements
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field.
- 2+ years related experience.
- Completion of beginner or intermediate level of BIM/VDC software training.
- Attention to detail to organize and run multiple project tasks.
- Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
- Ability to work in Microsoft Office, Project, and pertinent web applications at an intermediate level.
- Positive professional attitude and strong customer service skills.
- Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies effectively.
- Current driver’s license.
- Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status.
Nice To Haves
- Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and/or ArcGIS software backgrounds are preferred.
- Survey data knowledge and/or experience is preferred.
- GIS data management is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Act as an active participant in Mortenson’s Integrated Delivery Advancement Team community of practice for knowledge sharing.
- Plan, implement, and coordinate Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) processes using appropriate technology platforms.
- Utilize Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D to design optimized road and site grading models, alignments, profiles, corridors, and grading groups.
- Work with survey data and communicate with project field teams through Trimble Business Center software to deliver designs to survey equipment.
- Incorporate Mortenson BIM/VDC uses such as existing conditions modeling, cost estimation, phase planning (4D), site analysis, design reviews, 3D visualization, 3D coordination, site utilization planning, construction system design, digital fabrication, 3D control planning, and record modeling.
- Serve as the point of contact for team members on VDC processes and reports throughout all phases of construction.
- Document work processes related to improving or changing current company process standards.
