About The Position

The Integrated Const Tech Spec builds, reviews, and validates virtual construction models using plans, specifications, and elevations. The role supports construction-site logistics modeling, manages trade detailing and design deliverables, and identifies opportunities to apply Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) tools and processes during project pursuits. The position collaborates with estimating on model compliance and validation, supports review of VDC and technology contract language and BIM execution plans, and facilitates trade partner model coordination. It also maintains current multidisciplinary construction models in accordance with project modeling standards, helps coordinate project kickoff meetings, processes RFIs with the project team, and promotes the adoption of virtual construction tools and technologies among project staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, diploma, or 2-year certificate in a buildings-industry-related discipline, such as architecture, engineering, construction, civil, or architectural studies.
• 2 to 4 years of construction-related experience, including 1 to 2 years of Virtual Design and Construction-related experience.
• Understanding of construction sequences.
• Awareness of implementing construction technology.
• Ability to provide project model management.
• Knowledge of the building construction process and the building components involved at each stage of construction.
• Ability to read and understand 2D and 3D construction drawings and specifications and, with direct supervision, translate 2D drawings and specifications into a 3D/4D Building Information Model.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software and ability to create content in VDC software.
• Exposure to 4D scheduling software and planning tools.
• Ability to read construction models and understand scope.
• Ability to create and communicate markups on construction drawings.
• Ability to initiate the request for information documentation process.
• Ability to assist with trade partner deliverables and scope and coordinate multiple trade partner models.
• Ability to participate in trade coordination meetings and manage and communicate trade partner deliverables and scope.

Responsibilities

• Build, review, or validate virtual models from plans, specifications, and elevations.
• Collaborate with the project team to develop construction-site logistics models.
• Supervise coordination and management of trade detailing and design deliverables.
• During the pursuit stage, work with the project team to review and recommend scopes where VDC tools and processes can be incorporated.
• Collaborate with estimating on model compliance checking and validation.
• Collaborate with the Manager, Integrated Construction Technology to review VDC and technology contract language and the BIM execution plan.
• Facilitate the trade partner model coordination process and report to the project management team as required.
• Aggregate and maintain current multidisciplinary construction models, ensuring project modeling standards are followed.
• Collaborate with the Manager, Integrated Construction Technology on kickoff meetings at project start-up.
• Create and coordinate the processing of RFIs with the project team.
• Promote the use of virtual construction tools and processes to project staff.
• Share new technologies with project teams and drive adoption of PCL technologies through operational processes.
