About The Position

The Integrated Const Tech Spec supports project teams by developing, reviewing, and validating virtual construction models and coordinating their use throughout project delivery. The role contributes to construction-site logistics modeling, trade detailing and design deliverables, model compliance, trade partner coordination, and the maintenance of current multidisciplinary construction models in accordance with project modeling standards. During project pursuits and start-up, the specialist works with project teams to identify opportunities for VDC tools and processes, supports review of technology contract language and BIM execution plans, and collaborates on kickoff meetings. The role also supports RFI processing, communicates with project management teams about model coordination, and promotes adoption of virtual construction tools and PCL technologies.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree, diploma, or two-year certificate in a buildings-industry-related discipline, such as architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), civil, or architectural.
Two to four years of construction-related experience, including one to two years of Virtual Design and Construction-related experience.
Understanding of construction sequences.
Awareness of implementing construction technology.
Ability to provide project model management.
Knowledge of the building construction process and the building components involved at each stage of construction.
Ability to read and understand 2D and 3D construction drawings and specifications and, with direct supervision, translate 2D drawings and specifications into a 3D/4D Building Information Model.
Proficiency in 3D modeling software and ability to create content in VDC software.
Exposure to 4D scheduling software and planning tools.
Ability to read a construction model and understand its scope.
Ability to create and communicate markups on construction drawings.
Ability to initiate the request-for-information documentation process.
Ability to assist with trade partner deliverables and scope and coordinate multiple trade partner models.
Ability to participate in trade coordination meetings and manage and communicate trade partner deliverables and scope.

Responsibilities

Build, review, or validate virtual models from plans, specifications, and elevations.
Collaborate with the project team to develop construction-site logistics models.
Supervise the coordination and management of trade detailing and design deliverables.
During the pursuit stage, work with the project team to review and recommend scopes where VDC tools and processes can be incorporated.
Collaborate with estimating on model compliance checking and validation.
Collaborate with the Manager, Integrated Construction Technology to review VDC/technology contract language and the BIM execution plan.
Facilitate the trade partner model coordination process and report to the project management team as required.
Aggregate and maintain current multidisciplinary construction models, ensuring adherence to project modeling standards.
Collaborate with the Manager, Integrated Construction Technology on kickoff meetings at project start-up.
Create and coordinate the processing of RFIs with the project team.
Promote the use of virtual construction tools and processes to project staff.
Share new technologies with project teams and seek to drive adoption of PCL technologies through operational processes.
