Integrated Case Workers apply regulations and procedures to determine the eligibility of applicants and recipients for multiple public assistance benefits. They provide basic employment services to clients, manage cases for both benefit and employment services, and perform related duties as required. Integrated Case Worker I is the entry-level position in the series. Employees work under close supervision, attend training sessions, and learn regulations, work procedures, forms, and public assistance and/or employment program requirements. After orientation and training, they receive on-the-job experience until they demonstrate the competency needed for promotion to Integrated Case Worker II. Employees are expected to promote to Integrated Case Worker II after one year of satisfactory entry-level performance. Integrated Case Worker II differs from Integrated Case Worker III, which may provide lead direction, expert advice to case-carrying staff, and/or specialized assignments requiring advanced technical knowledge. Unlike Eligibility Specialists, Integrated Case Workers determine eligibility for public assistance and provide basic employability services. Unlike Employment & Training Workers, whose primary focus is the full scope of employability services, Integrated Case Workers provide basic employment services alongside eligibility and case management work. Only Merit System Services Applications will be accepted for this position.
