Receive referral calls, obtain minimal demographic information, and refer the call to the appropriate source or schedule an assessment. The Technician must properly triage emergency phone calls and walk-ins according to urgency in order that appropriate attention can be provided. Process all requests for information and external referrals. Completes insurance verifications and pre-certifications as needed. Assist in arranging for admission of patients, including alerting the business office staff to begin the verification of benefits, initiating calls to physicians and other related tasks as directed by the Intake Clinicians, Intake Coordinator and/or Director of A&R. Determine what Releases of Information are needed, and process them accordingly, per policy. Assist in obtaining needed records and information.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in occupational therapy, art, music, recreational therapy, humanities, or movement therapy.
Certification or licensure by the state of Georgia and/or national governing body in the following areas: art, occupational, recreation, or music therapy.
One (1) year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with an understanding of mental illness preferred.
Successful completion of CPR Certification and successful completion of CPI before assisting with a restraining procedure and within 30 days of employment.
Current Lifeguard and First Aid if conducting swimming activities.
