U.S.VETS—the nation’s largest nonprofit dedicated to preventing and ending veteran homelessness—is seeking an Intake Specialist to support veterans and families through the intake and enrollment process for our programs in Las Vegas. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys administrative coordination, client interaction, and ensuring that services begin smoothly and efficiently. As an Intake Specialist, you will serve as one of the first points of contact for veterans seeking services. You will support the intake process by screening for eligibility, coordinating documentation, entering data, and ensuring clients are connected to the appropriate resources and programs. This position plays an important role in ensuring that both client experiences and program compliance standards are handled with care and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in social services or related field required (Employment at U.S.VETS for at least 3 months may substitute for experience)
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data systems
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license required; must meet company insurance requirements and complete driver training

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with eligibility screenings, assessments, and intake packet completion
  • Help clients gather required documentation and complete enrollment steps
  • Enter and track client information in HMIS, MyCaseRecords, and internal systems
  • Work closely with Program Coordinators, Case Managers, Housing Specialists, and Outreach teams
  • Conduct individual or group orientations for clients entering programs
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements
  • Ensure client files and documentation remain accurate, organized, and compliant
  • Assist with supply coordination, aftercare follow-up, and administrative projects as needed
