About The Position

The Intake Coordinator (IC) is responsible for receiving and processing all referrals that come into the Penny Lane Clinic. Additionally, the IC assists in the processing of Residential client referrals. The IC completes all appropriate referral paperwork and assists in the verification of eligibility and identifies person(s) or agencies responsible in authorizing the client to receive services. The IC assists in the timely scheduling of initial appointments for clients referred and helps prioritize cases to be assigned. The IC is also required to obtain information about referred clients to determine the most appropriate types of service(s) for the client. The IC is expected to serve as a liaison with referring agencies and county personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in the social services or related field, one year experience working with children or 24 units of post-graduate studies in social services field. If lacking paid experience, volunteer and/or personal experience as a child in the foster care system will be considered.
  • Or Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in a non-related field and 2 years’ experience working with children and/or families.
  • Or Less than a Bachelor’s degree, four years of experience working with children and/or families.
  • Bilingual Spanish required (verbal only).
  • Valid California driver’s license; current automobile insurance; have and maintain a clean driving record acceptable to the organization’s insurance company; have immediate access to his or her vehicle during work hours.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and processing all referrals that come into the Penny Lane Clinic.
  • Assisting in the processing of Residential client referrals.
  • Completing all appropriate referral paperwork.
