About The Position
Local Infusion is hiring an Insurance & Intake Coordinator, referred to as an “Infusion Guide,” to support referral and intake coordination and provide excellent service to patients and referring providers. The role contributes to the company’s growth and helps ensure patients receive high-quality infusion therapy care. It is a full-time, onsite position at the Local Infusion center in Alpharetta, Georgia, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The salary starts at $25 per hour, with a quarterly bonus based on metrics and full benefits. A dedicated six-week training plan is provided. The ideal candidate has experience reading medical charts and working with insurance pre-authorizations. The position offers predictable hours, autonomy, and a manageable workload. Candidates must provide documentation of a negative TB test from within the last two years and current BLS certification. Hepatitis B and influenza vaccination records are also requested during onboarding.
Requirements
- Healthcare experience is required.
- Experience with insurance prior authorizations.
- Medical terminology experience.
- Overall medical insurance experience.
- Ability to quickly learn new apps.
- Strong familiarity and experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Provide documentation of a negative TB test taken within the last two years.
- Hold a current BLS certification.

Responsibilities
- Handle all aspects of the infusion referral process, including obtaining authorizations, financial counseling, and benefit investigations.
- Coordinate with referring providers to obtain documentation needed for treatment and communicate updates on patient status.
- Communicate the referral process and status to patients in a customer-centric way.
- Communicate openly with referring and prescribing providers.
- Assist with maintaining medical inventory and office supplies.
