INTAKE CLINICIAN - PART TIME DAYS
About The Position
The Intake Clinician obtains initial clinical phone information which is communicated to the physician on call to make a final decision regarding admission. The Clinician may also schedule a clinical evaluation if appropriate for the client and contacts the physician who will make decision for the appropriate level of care: inpatient, day treatment or outpatient care. He/she will facilitate this process by assisting the client, family and referral sources. Clinician also provides information to clients, families and referral sources regarding treatment programs, insurance and admission procedures.
Requirements
- MSW with Michigan LMSW (fully licensed) or Associates in Nursing or BSN with Michigan RN license
- At least 1 to 3 years of experience providing mental health services, preferably in a psychiatric hospital.
Responsibilities
- Obtain initial clinical phone information.
- Communicate clinical information to the physician on call for admission decisions.
- Schedule clinical evaluations if appropriate for the client.
- Contact the physician to determine the appropriate level of care (inpatient, day treatment, or outpatient).
- Assist clients, families, and referral sources in the admission process.
- Provide information regarding treatment programs, insurance, and admission procedures to clients, families, and referral sources.
