About The Position

Skyland Trail, a nonprofit mental health residential treatment program for adults and adolescents in Atlanta, is seeking an Adolescent Intake Specialist. This role is responsible for answering intake calls, providing excellent customer service, and coordinating the admissions process. The ideal candidate must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position involves organizing and maintaining all call and assessment records, client and family handbooks, and medical records.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for intake calls, triaging calls and initiating the admissions process.
  • Provide prompt follow-up on all open referrals.
  • Clinically screen calls.
  • Provide information about the program, admissions process, and basic financial details.
  • Provide referral sources when needed.
  • Provide written information about programs to callers upon request.
  • Initiate the admissions process with the client/family/referral.
  • Enter call information into the database.
  • Request and review records to determine client appropriateness for admission.
  • Gather all required written documentation for new clients prior to admission (e.g., previous records, welcome forms, family questionnaire).
  • Collect all pre-admission testing from clients and families.
  • Communicate and/or consult with clinical staff regarding potential admissions.
  • Schedule assessments for interested and appropriate individuals.
  • Schedule and provide tours to clients, families, and professionals.
  • Enter all intake information into electronic medical records systems prior to admissions.
  • Complete admission paperwork with new admissions and their families.
  • Assist Admissions staff by assembling charts and scheduling necessary appointments for new residential and day treatment clients.
  • Enter all client schedules into Electronic Medical Records.
  • Enter Demographics information into Electronic Medical Records.
  • Scan records.
  • Track sexual offenders and history.
  • Complete Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI) and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) on new admissions (serves as backup).
  • Assist clients in enrolling in outpatient services from higher levels of care.
  • Attend appropriate meetings, including staffing meetings, weekly admissions meetings, weekly clinical supervision, and quarterly all-staff meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
