About The Position

LSI, a human services agency with a long history of serving children, adults, and families, is seeking an Intake and Resource Referral Specialist. This part-time position (20 hrs/week) serves as the first point of contact for inquiries about services, aiming to help immigrants and refugees reduce barriers to community integration and self-sufficiency. The role involves coordinating assessments, collaborating with internal teams, and maintaining knowledge of available services and community resources. Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a human services or related field or High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years experience in working with or providing services to children and families.
  • Experience should demonstrate proficiency in offering customer service and community engagement and navigating community resources for underserved populations.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record and the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.

Nice To Haves

  • Ideal candidates will speak a second language.
  • Bachelor's degree in health or human services related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in social services, case management, intake / referral services and/or immigrant and refugee community services.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and knowledge of community and state resources preferred.
  • Proficiency in language(s) spoken by LSI's clients is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the first point of contact for inquiries for services, to support individuals reduce barriers to work towards community integration and self-sufficiency.
  • Processes and assists with referral, intake and assessments through phone calls, walk-ins and/or emails for LSI's Immigrant and Refugee Community Services.
  • Coordinates assessments with individuals to determine appropriate programming needs and assist them in reducing barriers to access and understand available services and community resources.
  • Collaborates with Coordinator team, Program Supervisors and/or Caseworkers to assess referrals, admissions and services to ensure high and efficient quality of service to clients in a plan of action that supports client goals.
  • Intake and Resource Referral Specialist must be knowledgeable of Immigrant and Refugee Community Services programming options as well as community resources.
