Intake and Assessment Registered Nurse (RN)
About The Position
Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in Independence, MO is actively hiring an Admissions and Intake Registered Nurse (RN). This is a full-time role for a compassionate, clinically skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Intake and Admissions team. The position is critical for comprehensive clinical assessments, facilitating appropriate level-of-care determinations, and ensuring a seamless, supportive experience for patients and their families. The hospital will serve children and adolescents, adults, and seniors with innovative and evidence-based inpatient behavioral healthcare. It is expected to open in the second half of 2026 and will create over 200 new, full-time jobs. The facility will be located at the intersection of I-70 and Little Blue Parkway, adjacent to the Children’s Mercy Hospital Outpatient Clinics, and will feature 120 licensed beds, spanning over 88,000 square feet, including an activity yard and gym.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri (or compact license)
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Be able to work three 12 hour shifts per week
Nice To Haves
- Experience in behavioral health, assessments, crisis intervention, and admissions preferred
- Experience in intake, triage, or emergency services strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments
- Evaluate patients for appropriate levels of care and admissions criteria
- Coordinate and collaborate for all necessary information with physicians and other staff
