Requirements

  • Post secondary education or the equivalent combination of work experience with employers is preferred.
  • Experience in claims’ environment.
  • Working knowledge of WC Act/Regulations.
  • Experience working with Employers in a WCB setting is preferred.
  • Experience working with eCO, PAM, Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team.
  • Knowledge of Industry Classification an asset.
  • Demonstrated independent decision-making skills and the ability to work in a high-volume work environment.
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication and investigative skills are required.
  • Proven customer focus, building strong relationships and delivering solutions that meet customer needs and expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately assigns complex insured accounts and industry classifications to high-volume claim files to ensure correct cost attribution and compliance, including multi-account employers, government programs, personal coverage, and specialized industries.
  • Review and verify insured account and policy details on claim files, correcting errors to ensure accurate claim cost attribution and records integrity.
  • Assess claims for Workers Compensation Act coverage and conduct audits of Time Loss and No Time Loss claims to support compliant, consistent claim processing decisions.
  • Apply the Workers Compensation Act to evaluate claim eligibility and deny non‑covered “Notice Only” claims based on legislative and policy requirements.
  • Partner with claim owners and stakeholders to resolve account or cost discrepancies, explain claim cost reallocations, and communicate coverage determinations in accordance with the Workers Compensation Act.
  • Accountable for investigating employers with Personal Coverage and identify Government Programs.
  • Train and coach registration and claims processing staff to accurately attach insured accounts, policies, government programs, and personal coverage to claims.
  • Review claims and re-assign them for adjudication according to the transfer criteria.
  • Address all internal and external inquiries and educate stakeholders.
