About The Position

Acadian Client Services is seeking an Insurance Verifier to join the Verification Department in Lafayette, LA. This role is responsible for verifying all required information necessary to prepare accounts for submission to the third-party payor. The position is based in the office, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, and is not a work-from-home position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in Google, MS Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with coworkers and patients
  • Professional work ethic and dress code
  • Ability to adhere to productivity goals, departmental and company guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Maintain highest level of confidentiality
  • Punctual with strong attendance history

Nice To Haves

  • Previous medical billing experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Verify insurance information including eligibility, copay, deductibles and out of pockets
  • Handle incoming calls for specific payor units
  • Initiate contact with patient/guarantors, third party payors, and facilities
  • Ensure accuracy of demographic information
  • Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
