About The Position

The Insurance Verifier associate is responsible for entering, correcting and verifying all patient demographics and financial billing information in the practice management system and patient record.

Requirements

High School graduate
Minimum of one year of experience in business office activities within a healthcare environment
Ability to relate and work effectively with others
Demonstrated verbal and written communications in English for contacting payors, patients, and co-workers
Demonstrated computer skills in utilizing word processing, integrated database, and understanding of mathematical calculations and medical terminology

Responsibilities

Ensures insurance verification is completed accurately, and within a minimum of three days prior to date of service.
Data entry is accurate and completed in patient accounting software (HST) according to procedure.
Makes sure authorization forms are in the medical record prior to date of service.
Contacts patients to communicate patient responsibility due on the date of service.
Verifies a minimum of thirty-five accounts daily.
Assures Health Stream education is up to date and completed prior to annual evaluation.
Participates in regular departmental staff meetings and facility-wide meetings.
Always on time for work and attendance is within company policy guidelines.
Willingness to assist in orientation of new staff and ensuring a high level of employee satisfaction and retention.
