About The Position

CCC is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual for a high-volume Insurance Verification Specialist position. This role is responsible for verifying insurance benefits, estimating patient financial responsibility, and communicating costs to patients prior to services. The position works closely with the entire revenue cycle team and front office staff and requires excellent customer service and communication skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Relevant healthcare experience required
  • Prior experience with insurance verification and health insurance benefits
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • associate degree preferred
  • Experience with patient communication and financial counseling in a healthcare setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Verify patient insurance coverage for cardiovascular outpatient and inpatient visits, testing, and procedures using online portals and payer resources.
  • Estimate benefits, coverage, and patient out-of-pocket costs.
  • Communicate with patients regarding financial responsibility, including copayments, deductibles, and coinsurance, to support point-of-service collections.
  • Update patient records with accurate demographic and insurance information.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all payer types, including commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicare replacement plans, Medicaid, and governmental payers.
