About The Position

You are responsible for selling insurance products that meet our client’s needs. You ensure our clients receive an AMAZING client experience with our Insurance Agency! This role is primarily focused on sales (50%), customer service (45%), and other supporting activities (5%). You will be the main point of contact for Auto, Homeowner, Commercial & Life Policies, and will also assist with Property & Casualty & Crop Book. The role involves promoting, selling, and servicing various insurance products, cross-selling, negotiating with vendors, and achieving sales goals. Attracting new clients is the main focus, while retaining and expanding existing client relationships is also important. You will also handle customer service aspects such as calculating premiums, quoting rates, assisting with Medicare and Part D, managing policy renewals, modifications, and cancellations, and following up with insurance companies. Additionally, you will provide secondary phone support, engage in community activities, and promote the company culture.

Requirements

  • Have a 4-year degree in a related field OR 3-4 years of related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • Maintain Property Casualty, Life & Health Insurance Licensures.
  • High numerical aptitude.

  • Ability to work with multiple levels of management & agency staff.
  • Skills needed in a typical office environment, including computer skills & utilization of office equipment.
  • Regularly required to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, attend meetings, etc.
  • Ability to operate a computer, carry, handle & feel objects; reach with hands & arms; communicate effectively & efficiently in person & over the phone.
  • Occasionally lift &/or move up to 25 pounds or more with assistance.
  • Ability to travel to other locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Promoting, selling & servicing property, casualty, life, disability, life & crop insurance products to clients.
  • Cross-selling related insurance products.
  • Assisting in negotiating with vendors for competitive pricing & terms for insurance products.
  • Achieving personal & Agency sales goals as assigned by your supervisor.
  • Contacting & qualifying prospective clients & explaining features & merits of policies offered, recommending amount & type of coverage based on analysis of prospect’s circumstances.
  • Increasing volume of clients & policies using the R-E-A process, along with call programs developed within your department.
  • Attracting new clients, while retaining & expanding existing client relationships.
  • Calling on prospective clients with no existing agency relationship either in person or by phone.
  • Maintaining a general understanding of Profinium’s products & service offerings to identify additional client/prospect needs & execute partnership referral opportunities.
  • Maintaining annual certification to sell Part D.
  • Calculating & quoting premium rates for recommended policies & verifying accuracy of new policies.
  • Assisting seniors with their Medicare problems & Part D.
  • Ordering new Health insurance materials.
  • Performing endorsements & quotes for current customers.
  • Following up with e-mails from insurance companies when additional client information is requested.
  • Managing policy renewals, modifications & cancellations, ensuring continuous coverage & addressing policy-related inquiries or concerns.
  • Attending meetings, seminars & programs to learn about new products & services, learn new skills & receive technical assistance in developing new accounts.
  • Assisting & serving as backup for the agency operating system.
  • Providing secondary phone support.
  • Engaging in community activities that assist in developing & enhancing the bank’s reputation.
